Travelling with children
The easiness of travelling with kids serves also to measure the functionality of public transport. Therefore, the transport system of the Madrid Region is featuring measures that make travelling with children in a comfortable manner, faster and safer: lifts and ramps for an easy access with baby buggies, reserved seats for people with children in all means of transport, free entry to all transport system for children under 7 years old, etc.
Since March 2015, children under 7 years old can travel free in the Madrid Region public transport. Children between 4 and 6 years of age must use a special contactless card, whose issue is free.
