The Community of Madrid conducts various activities to raise awareness of the need for proper behavior in the field of road safety. In this sense, the CRTM has installed in Plaza Castilla exchanger the exhibition "Stop Accidents", formed by about twenty photographs chosen from competition participants every year in the Partnership Support and Guidance affected by Traffic Accidents.

On this occasion, the sample, under the slogan "Do not cross your life Pedestrian", is intended to alert about the risks of improperly crossing, considering that traffic accidents involving pedestrians are increasing and now account for 19% of all accidents.

The exhibition will continue until the next day October 4, during the same hours of the exchanger, from 6:00 to 12:00 pm. Its location is at the Metro entrance hall, access from Avenida de Asturias and its opening is framed as one of the acts of the European Mobility Week.

Its location in the basic infrastructure of public transport allows to transmit a message to many people and also empowering transport interchanges as great places for meeting and social participation. Only in the Plaza de Castilla passed 180,000 users a day, joining three Metro lines, 25 urban and 55 suburban bus lines.

The collaboration of the Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid with "Stop Accidents" is part of the corporate social responsibility policy of the agency, taking into account that the creation of a space for reflection on risk situations on the road and search solutions is a maxim of the Community of Madrid.

So far this year, the Consorcio de Transportes has worked in 16 charitable causes, sports and culture, making available its facilities for reach as many citizens as possible, without imposing cost to the entity. With all it also provides added value to the users of public transport in our region.
