The European Mobility Week, held between 16 and 22 September under the motto "Move for cleaner air", have one of their major awareness-raising events on the campus of the Universidad Complutense, where leave a caravan tour cyclist Green Route between Ciudad Universitaria and the Dehesa de la Villa.
This activity, which helps the Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid (CRTM), aims to promote the bicycle attached to public transport including mobility alternative that respects the environment. Indeed, the chosen route is part of a network of bike Green Routes that start at public transport stations.
In this case, Green Route of Ciudad Universitaria begins its journey in the Moncloa Interchange, comes to Ciudad Universitaria Metro Station and connects with the old road Dehesa de la Villa, which, after close to traffic, has become also a road-hiking cycle.
Participation in this initiative, which begins at 17:00 hours from Metro Station Ciudad Universitaria, is free. Even for those who do not have bikes, they will be lend in the BiciCum office available on campus to complete the itinerary.
From the starting point, the caravan will continue for Green Route to outrun the Faculty of Law and the junction with Sinesio Delgado Street and enter the park of Dehesa de la Villa, where there will be a guided tour to explore this green area of the capital. Already in the Information Center and Environmental Equation park, attendees can learn about products and Eco Fair Trade. In total, from Ciudad Universitaria to the Dehesa de la Villa is a length of four kilometers they will also back.
The Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid is one of the organizations participating in the European Mobility Week 2013, with various activities intended to raise public awareness about the impact of their way of moving on urban air quality. Young people are one of the groups with which you work more actively, with initiatives such as the now presented, because the way they move will determine the future mobility.
