The Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid has become the Moncloa interchange in a cardiopulmonary resuscitation classroom where SAMUR workers have taught to the public transport users how to deal with a person suffering cardiac arrest.
This activity is part of the initiatives undertaken by emergency body on the occasion of the European Day of Pulmonary Resuscitation, with the basic aim of getting a better response from the general public to a heart problem.
The courses were completed on October 16, between 9:00 and 14:00 pm and 16:00 to 21:00, in practical classes lasting 10 to 12 minutes. All travelers passing through the area have been involved in them, with the only requirement of having more than 6 years of age.
The workshops have been conducted by staff SAMUR called "alertantes" who have taught involved to make an initial assessment before cardiac arrest and cardiopulmonary resuscitation following medical scheme for untrained persons.
According to various studies, the rates of cardiac arrest survival to increase to 40% if performed resuscitation and every minute of delay reduces the chance of survival by 10%. Sites of confluence special, such as interchange stations, are excellent opportunities for outreach and awareness of such messages.
Keep in mind that the exchangers recorded a million trips a day and therefore are excellent channels broadcast itself. Thus, so far this year, the Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid has collaborated on a dozen charitable causes, sports and culture, making available its facilities to reach as many citizens as possible.
