The CRTM celebrates European Mobility Week 2013 with exhibitions, Green Routes and new services

One more year, the Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid joins the celebration of the European Mobility Week, which takes place from 16 to 22 September under the motto: "Move for cleaner air!"

This Madrid institution will inaugurate the event on Monday, September 16 with the launch of the new route of the line T61. This line, which previously linked the Fuencarral commuter station with Telefónica headquarters, will extend its service to Las Tablas, favoring transfer to the PAU located in this neighborhood. Thus, the Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid responds to the demand for workers and neighboring residents in this neighborhood.

That same Monday, both the Getafe City Council as the Móstoles one, will open the exhibition "And you, how do you move?". The exhibition aims to bring the world of public transport and mobility to children, making a tour through the history, science, discoveries and inventions that human beings have been transported around the world by land, sea and air . In it can discover the great invention of the wheel, the sail and oars, or the steam engine.

The exhibition also approaches to public transport in Madrid, doing a tour of the underground city and intercity buses, commuter trains and tram history, highlighting the benefits of public transport.

Getafe City Council also will host the exhibition "Destination Madrid, the Light Rail Tram, 150 years of history." It runs the graphic heritage around these modes, treating it from two perspectives: first chronological, and on the other the issue, which explores key aspects to understand the progress of technology and everyday tram use and presence of the tram on the streets.

To continue with the acts, on Tuesday 17 the Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid collaborates in the University Caravan cyclist by the Green Route of Ciudad Universitaria. This route is part of a network of cycle paths that start in Moncloa, reaching Metro Station Ciudad Universitaria and connect with the old road Dehesa de la Villa that once closed to traffic, has become also a road-hiking cycle.

On Wednesday 18, will be held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madrid two seminars, one first European project Involve and then another on the Cheque Transport, with the participation of companies and seek to highlight the benefits to workers have the use of public transport, with the decrease of income tax.

On Thursday 19 and continuing to promote the respect for the environment and promoting sustainable and responsible mobility, will open a new Green Route in Boadilla. Circular route, the new route cycle-pedestrian has its origin and end in MLO stations Boadilla Centro or Ferial de Boadilla, and crosses natural areas of great ecological value like Monte de Boadilla.

Concluding the acts of the European Mobility Week, Friday 20 will open the exhibition "Stop accidents" in the Plaza Castilla exchanger. This exhibition aims to promote, through photography, social awareness regarding road safety and promote good habits of drivers and pedestrians.

The European Mobility Week 2013, with which the Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid is firmly committed and whose theme this year, "Move for cleaner air", invites citizens to reflect on the impact which has transportation in the urban air quality.
