The public transport system in Madrid, recognized in an european level at the annual rail prizes

The Madrid public transport quality, coordinated by the Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid, has again been recognized in Europe at the Annual Rail Awards, that highlight the best practices in European infrastructure of the railway world. On this occasion, was the MLO who has been awarded the prize for "Best European LRT operator of the year".

The company competed in the finals with other operators in cities like Freiburg, Munich, London and Manchester, who finally won in its category-LRT, which received over 300 initial registrations.

The awards, which are held every year as part of the European Rail Congress, are divided into 19 categories, such as subway, light rail, inter-city rail, regional operator, best station, customer service, engineering, sustainability, marketing, security, technology, etc.. and are considered the "Oscars" of the world of railways in Europe.

This award is recognition of the entire management team of the Madrid public transport, and places the transport systems of the Community of Madrid at the top of the European scene. Specifically, a recent survey has revealed that satisfaction Light Rail Community of Madrid have a high esteem among public transport users, obtaining a rating of 8.59 out of 10.

MLO
MLO is a concession of the Community of Madrid in July 2007 connects the municipalities of Majadahonda, Alcorcón and Pozuelo de Alarcón to the Metro, Commuter and Interurban and Urban Buses that manages and coordinates the Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid.

The West LRT network consists of two lines: first, ML2, linking Metro Line 10 to the town of Pozuelo de Alarcón, has 13 stops from Colonia Jardín to Aravaca station and a length of 8.7 km on the other hand, ML3, which runs between Colonia Jardín and Boadilla del Monte, with 16 stations and a total length of 13.7 km.
