The Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid is one of the most active members of UITP, consisting of 3,400 members from 92 different countries. It has organized the meeting of the members of its Management Committee, the Policy Board,  from which the CRTM has been vice president until early this year.

In the said Executive Committee, which met in Madrid on 7 and 8 November, another issue that has been discussed is the economic viability of the public transport system at present.
