Reordering nocturnal bus network of Madrid to avoid duplication and provide service to new areas

The Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid has decided to reorganize the nocturnal bus network in the capital, which will conduct the Municipal Transport Company (EMT), in order to unify the entire network, avoiding duplication and providing service to new areas that lacked it until now.

Thus, both weekdays and weekends and holidays, the locals will have the same network of night buses, known as "Búhos", composed of 27 lines. This means two more lines respect to the history of the network "Búhos".

The two new routes will circulate under the name N25 and N26, both with head in Alonso Martínez, which also provides service to an area nightlife concentrated in the capital. Subsequently, both lines will also stop at Cibeles.

The N25 line covers the journey between Alonso Martínez and Villa de Vallecas, going through Paseo de la Castellana, Plaza Colón, Plaza de Cibeles, Sevilla, Puerta del Sol, Cánovas del Castillo, Paseo del Prado, Atocha exchanger, Avenida Ciudad de Barcelona , Avenida de la Albufera, Sierra de Guadalupe and Plaza de Juan Malasaña (Villa de Vallecas). The return route will be from this square through Jesús Pino, Avenida de la Albufera, Santillana del Mar, Avenida Ciudad de Barcelona, Paseo de la Infanta Isabel, Paseo del Prado, Cánovas del Castillo, Plaza de Cibeles, Plaza de Colón, Génova and Alonso Martínez.

For its part, the line N26 cover the journey between Alonso Martinez and Aluche performing the following route: Paseo de la Castellana, Plaza de Colón, Plaza de Cibeles, Cánovas del Castillo, Paseo del Prado, Atocha, Plaza de Benavente, Toledo street , General Ricardos street, Oca street, road Engineers, Nuestra Señora de la Luz avenue, Ocaña street and Aluche exchanger. On the way back, from this point will circulate along Ocaña, Nuestra Señora de la Luz, Nuestra Señora de Fátima Avenue, Paseo Muñoz Grandes, Oca, General Ricardos, Toledo, Duque de Rivas, Plaza de Santa Cruz, Puerta del Sol, Alcalá, Plaza Cibeles, Plaza de Colón, Génova and Alonso Martínez.

In addition, four other lines than previously existed modify their routes. This is lines N15, N17, N22 and N23, the latter with a change very remarkable because will go all over the axis Bravo Murillo street.

With all the realignment, it serves to unserved areas, including the Paseo de Santa María de la Cabeza, Port Avenue, Oporto Avenue and Nuestra Señora de la Luz. Also La Albufera Avenue throughout its length and Bravo Murillo street.

Schedules are also merged new network, starting between 23:15 pm and 23:30 pm Monday through Thursday at the headwaters of the periphery and 23:55 hours Cibeles and Alonso Martínez. The last trips will take place between 5:30 am and 5:50 pm.

With this performance, which will be effective from early Monday September 30 to Tuesday October 1, the Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid continues to adopt efficiency measures, that allow to adapt the service offering to the mobility needs of the Madrid.
